Two Bands. One Stage. Go! The Compulsives, a young band from Liverpool, UK and Lady Bird, a young band from Vienna, AUT play at the Chelsea on 16th August 2007. It was a night to remember. Viennese band Lady Bird opened the stage with their mind-bending and eventually mind-mending tunes. They sound a little like Nirvana, a little like the Beatles and a lot like Lady Bird. It should also not go unmentioned that their bass player is only 16, which is amazing. One of the bands that mean what they say and one of the bands that actually has something to say! You will definitly hear from this band! They deserve it!
The Compulsives, they gave their debut in Austria that night, probably that all attention was theirs when they were on stage. “Guten Abend, Vienna!” They treated the audience to an energetic show that involved dancing in the audience and broken drum sticks at the end of the gig. Their songs are brilliant. In their fine-crafted lyrics they talk about life in the city, people they meet and people they rather not meet. Their unique sound and their abilities as musicians will soon make them music lovers’ favourites! Not a shadow of a doubt about that! You could sense the atmosphere at the Chelsea: We are all part of a very special night. Indeed we were! (Nadia Baha)
